Cancer Walk 2011!

So it's been a long time since the last cancer walk and I felt that it is past due time for another one, plus today marks a certain personal anniversary but more on that later. SO this year's cancer walk is going to be bigger and better, more prizes and better organization and planning is going to make this the best cancer walk to date.

So today marks a special anniversary for me, you maybe be trying to guess what it is, today 3 years ago I hosted my first ever cancer walk. No I'm not talking about the one in Wizard101. The first one in Wizard101 was inspired by monthly cancer walks in another game. You may or may not have heard of Build-a-Bearville, it is quite different from Wizard101 but to me 3 years ago it was like chocolate, I LOVED the game I also LOVED the community and so I got active into the main community site, Build-A-Bearville Insider or BI. The genius who came up with the idea for walks was YellowRoseofTexas, she started the first ever cancer walk with set objectives, of which I tried to base the first cancer walk in Wizard101 off of, you can read them below as I desire for these to be our objectives as well.

• Raise awareness of cancer and its challenges.
• Show support for cancer victims, survivors and families touched by this disease.
• Allow BearvilleInsider.com community members the experience of organizing a Virtual Care event and inspire them to see how they can get involved and make a difference. 

I think this can be true for us as well. So anyways a few walks later I took on the daunting and I do mean daunting task of organizing 100's of people together for the August cancer walk. It turned out to be a great success. We were joined by the staff of Build-a-Bearville and went as far as to be featured in the in game newspaper. It was so much fun that I felt guilty to not bring it to Wizard101. I honestly could not have asked for a better turnout at the first Wizard101 cancer walk 2 years ago and I hope to see a as great of a turnout this year!

So onto the details and prizes! I know you are all eager to win some prizes soooo lets move onto the first of 3, yes 3 contests in which you can win epic prizes.

"Banner Contest"

So I'm not the best at art or Photoshop or anything that concerns drawing for that matter so I've decided to let you guys make the best banner for the cancer walk you can. You will be judged on

• Creativity
• Effort
• Ability to follow guidelines (such as does the banner have the cancer walk info on it)

The requirements/guidelines for the banner are 1. It must include the realm, time and date of the walk. 2. The picture can be any size 3. Have fun no seriously don't stress yourself trying to get the banner to be perfect just be creative :)

"Twitter Contest"

Now for the twitter contest, this is perhaps the simplest of all of the contests. All you have to do is follow @EvilTheurgist on twitter and pay attention for a special tweet that the first 50 unique people to retweet the tweet with the hash tag in the tweet wins a code for 1,000 Crowns curtsies of KingsIsle!

"After Shots Contest"

Perhaps my favorite contest out of all 3 would be this one, I like it so much because I love the prize and it's fairly simple. After the walk is over you will be given 3 days to send in your best screenshot of the walk, they will be judged by me based upon:
 

1: Ability to follow rules, such as no Photoshopping.
2: Overall capture of the event atmosphere.

 The best 25 judged by me will each receive a code for a random colored Wyvern Mount (Permanent) Like one the one below (but with a random color) You may only enter 1 screenshot, if you send in multiple screenshots you will be disqualified.
